In this program we cover the early work of Hugh Padgham. After being seduced by the sound of an Elton John album, Padgham became a tape operator and then an engineer under Steve Lillywhite (program #50). With Lillywhite, they developed a gated reverb for drums and this program covers the evolution of that sound.
Padgham moved on from Lillywhite and acted as a co-producer with many bands allowing them more creative control of their work.
