This program follows on from the last one about 1970 – mainly because of the musicians who were in the spotlight at the time.
One such musician was Billy Preston, who started in gospel and as a teenager joined the Little Richard Band. On tour with them, he met The Beatles in Hamburg and became connected to the group through his keyboard use – even signing with Apple Records for his own solo albums.
Preston also provided keyboard support for many other artists and bands. The program only has an hour so this is a very small snapshot of his work.
