In this program we play songs that were recorded at the famous Abbey Road Studios in London. The house was converted to a recording studio in 1931, however it was The Beatles that made it famous with their album of the same name and the photo of the band crossing the road.
Abbey Road Studios were owned by EMI, formed through the merger of the Gramophone Company (owners of the HMV “His Master’s Voice” brand) and the Columbia Graphophone Company. EMI stands for Electric and Musical Industries and the studios were also known for a while as the EMI Studios.
